PKU Awareness Day 2010

I am planning Low Protein workshops to be held on 1st May next year across Australia and worldwide if possible. The idea is to invite a celebrity which will create media attention. The LP dishes will be some recipes from all countries of the world to create that international flavour, It would be great to do something this big to create as much awareness as possible for PKU throughout the world! To make this plan work we would work with all PKU Associations, PKU Clinics worldwide, LP food companies and lots of PR departments hospital, companies and media write to many newspapers, TV Channels, forums everywhere. Would anybody be interested in helping? :)

Thanks! :) The idea is to work with your PKU clinic, and the low protein companies to work out the best place to have the table with the food on it then invite lots of people to attend, write to newspapers and TV channels and give a brief explanation about PKU, how we live from day to day. If you have brochures and posters have them send them to the media. Also make sure that somebody is filming the day or some of the day. Local PKU Associations should be able to help out as well.

Step one is to speak to the staff at the PKU Clinic, low protein companies, PKU association to work out where is the best place to have the table on the 1st May, work out the recipe for various countries around the world which will create an international flavour. The aim is to reach as many people as possible and to have the International table going in as many cities as possible around the world! :) :D

Hello Debbie, your idea sounds great, is it possible to take part if i haven't got PKU, but MSUD? MSUD is another metabolic disease, but we also have an low- protein-diet.
